We are eager to bring on a volunteer intern to be a part of our passionate team and support various functions of our organization. We’re hosting three total interns this year, each of which will have their own focus, but may regularly need to collaborate with each other and our team to complete projects and tasks.
Position Summary:
Communications & Social Media Intern
Assist in all scopes of creating and crafting external communications, including social media posts, newsletters, articles, and webpages.
Conduct analytics and insights research to shape our communications strategy.
Manage outreach contact database on MailChimp.
Intern expectations:
Must be currently enrolled in a college or university.
Passion for making a positive impact on their community and the planet.
Basic knowledge of the carbon cycle and climate change.
Positive attitude, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to follow directions.
Preferred Qualifications:
No professional experience required, but always welcomed.
Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, MailChimp, and Squarespace.
Environmental messaging and marketing/social media strategies.
Fundraising for nonprofit organizations.
Located in Gainesville, FL.
Additional Information:
This internship will last the entire 2025-26 academic year. Interns must be enrolled in college or university and have the ability to receive class credit for the internship.
This is a predominantly remote position, with occasional in-person activities in Gainesville, FL.
This is an unpaid internship with opportunities for growth and incentives. Interns will be able to receive lessons in carbon accounting and greenhouse gas emissions calculations from our expert team!
We operate on a flexible schedule and expect you to build your schedule according to your capacity. Hours will vary depending on workload, but we ask for 5-15 hours per week.
