Join us as we venture into Turkey Creek Preserve to restore the site and prepare the environment for future plantings. This Preserve is not yet open to the public so this is a great chance to be among the first to visit the area.
The trailhead has an old metal gate and wooden fence around the perimeter, but no signs. It is on the west side of NW 59th Terrace. The area we will be cleaning should all be fairly dry. As we clean up, we may find rusty metal & broken glass, so young children are not advised.
Please wear long pants & closed toed shoes; maybe a long sleeve shirt. Volunteers should bring a reusable water bottle. Water, gloves, hand tools, trash bags & bug spray will be provided.
Volunteer Event Activities: Removing trash and invasive exotic plants from the woods and planting natives on the northeast end of Turkey Creek Preserve.
